Wat er gebeurt
A tag manager loads measurement or advertising tags at runtime, so the identifiers of those tags are not in the delivered HTML. A check that reads the source therefore reports absence while the traffic shows presence. The container is also the reason an operator can change what runs without changing the site, which is why a source-based finding says nothing about a different day either.
Waarom het ertoe doet
A researcher who checks only the source concludes that tracking stopped when it did not, and publishes reassurance that the traffic contradicts. The same error runs the other way in a dispute: an operator can point at a clean source while the container keeps loading what it always did.
